Woman dies of a heart attack while wearing golf shoes
Woman dies after falling from a golfing tee in Oregon, according to a post on Facebook.
Marissa Stebenick, who was 42, was playing in the Tredsafe Women’s Golfing Shoes tournament in Port Orford, Oregon, on Thursday, according a post from her family.
A few hours later, Stebens died at a hospital, according her Facebook post.
Her friends posted the story to Facebook.
The event was held at the Teddie Golf Club in Portland, Oregon.
The Augusta National Course, where Stebents was a regular, was closed for the event.
Teddie golf club said the club was working with the Portland Police Department and the Oregon State Police to find the person responsible for the incident.
Stebens, a former tennis coach and fitness instructor, had been playing for more than 25 years.
Her Facebook post on the event said that the day before she fell she went out with a friend to play a round of golf.
She was heading to the parking lot when she went to her car, fell and was struck by the ball.
The family is asking for privacy and grief counseling as they deal with their loss.
